Yu Zheng
Vice President of JD.com, Chief Data Scientist of JD Digits
Bio: Dr. Yu Zheng is a Vice President of JD.COM and the Chief Data Scientist of JD Digits, passionate about using big data and AI technology to tackle urban challenges. He is the president of the Urban Computing Business Unit and serves as the director of the Urban Computing Lab at JD Group. Before Joining JD Finance, he was a senior research manager at Microsoft Research. Zheng is also a Chair Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an Adjunct Professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Zheng currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology and has served as chair on over 10 prestigious international conferences, e.g. as the program co-chair of ICDE 2014 (Industrial Track) and CIKM 2017 (Industrial Track). In 2013, he was named one of the Top Innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review (TR35) and featured by Time Magazine for his research on urban computing. In 2014, he was named one of the Top 40 Business Elites under 40 in China by Fortune Magazine. In 2017, Zheng is honored as an ACM Distinguished Scientist.
Tiger Qie

Title: Smart Mobility: Redefine Transportation with AI
Abstract: Didi Chuxing (“DiDi”) is the world’s leading mobile transportation platform. Accumulation of massive mobility data provides a basis for DiDi to participate in building the future urban transportation system. In this talk, Tiger will illustrate DiDi’s three-layered perspective on AI for Transportation strategy, featuring smart transportation, intelligent driving and shared mobility. Since 2017, DiDi smart transportation platform has helped local governments and urban traffic departments master traffic patterns, improve traffic management and meet public’s transportation needs, based on the power "Internet + traffic big data”. Going deeper, Tiger will introduce DiDi’s AI platform, which aims to open up its AI capabilities to boost the development of the mobility ecosystem, and to lead changes in future mobility with the implementation of AI technologies. Through these efforts, DiDi is committed to collaborating with policymakers, industry and communities to solve urban transportation, environmental and employment challenges.
Bio: Tiger Qie joined Didi Chuxing in 2017. As the Vice President of Didi Chuxing and the CTO of DiDi’s Ride Sharing Business Group, he is responsible for Marketplace & Technology Development. As the worlds’ leading mobile transportation platform, DiDi’s ride sharing technology and marketplace efficiency have made billions of trips safer and more comfortable. Tiger graduated from Tsinghua University and later received an MS degree in Computer Science from Princeton University. He joined Google in 2003, where he was the key designer of Google AdWords system, serving as Senior Director of Engineering and Site Director of Google Shanghai Office. During his tenure, he won the prestigious Google Founder's Award twice for his outstanding contributions to Google's core advertising system. Prior to joining DiDi, Tiger was the CTO of RED, China’s leading social commerce platform, where he substantially improved RED’s technology and user experience. Throughout his career, Tiger has proven that he has extensive experience and deep expertise in engineering system design, algorithm optimization and technology management.
